News from Prof. Michael Farthing, Chair of the Scientific Committee

Record number of abstracts for UEGW Paris 2007

I am delighted to announce that we have received a record number of 2868 abstracts for UEGW Paris 2007.  This represents a significant increase over Berlin ( +18%) and Copenhagen ( +27%).  Providing quality is maintained, we will do everything we can to try and keep the acceptance rate steady.  This is really excellent news and confirms that UEGW is an important place to present your best science. In addition, we have received 99 clinical cases and 42 video cases which will be formally evaluated by the Scientific Committee for presentation in Paris.

Thanks to all of you within Europe and the many investigators from outside Europe who are clearly contributing to make UEGW Paris 2007 a great success.

Professor Michael Farthing, Chair UEGF Scientific Committee

The Palais des Congrès

The Palais des Congrès is located at the crossroads of Parisian life. Since its creation by the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 1974, it has played an important role in the economic life and cultural development of the French capital.

Expanded and renovated in 1999, the Palais des Congrès is woven into the texture of Paris' urban life, adding shadow and light, stability and movement, symmetry and asymmetry, black-and-white and colour, all balancing each other out according to the "poetry of contrasts".
